Route: Lendava/Lendva–Trimlini–Petišovci–(Mura-forest)–Pince-Marof–Pince–Dolina pri Lendavi–Čentiba/Csente–Lendava/Lendva
On this bike tour, the half of the route is on a gravel road, so it is advisable to start off with a mountain bike.
From the Lendva Thermal Bath, take the bicycle road, and soon we arrive at Trimlin. We go straight through the village, and turn left into the road opposite the oil tanks (Petrol sign). We ride our bicycles first on asphalted, and then on a short section of winding gravel road among agricultural fields. To the left we can admire the Lendva mountain range. We go straight on to the asphalt road which is perpendicular to our road. We turn right here from the Ledva Creek, and then we continue straight ahead to reach Petisovci via the overpass above the highways. Following the signpost for the Dolinska pot bicycle road in the village, we turn left into the first street, and shortly again to the left at the bicycle signboard. After leaving the settlement we turn left again at the next crossroads. After that we continue straight ahead, and then we move from the asphalt road to the gravel road. A long gravel section follows. First we ride along an agricultural field on the left, then along the dam along the Mura River on the right, and then we cycle among the shady trees of the Mura forests. During our trip we can see beehives in several places. The forests are followed by pastures, then we turn back, and head back. Returning as soon as we see the village to the right, we turn right at the intersection of the gravel roads (left to the Mura River), and ride straight to the village of Benica. We cross the bridge over the Ledva Creek, and arrive at the village of Pince-Marof and then of Pince. We turn left at the road No. 443 and return straight to the town of Lendva, turning right through the villages of Dolina pri Lendavi and Centiba. At the first crossroads with traffic lights in the city, we turn left to return to the thermal bath.
Route: Lenti-Rédics-Genterovci / Gönterháza-Lendava / Lendava-Čentiba / Csente-Torniszentmiklós-Lovászi-Szécsisziget-Lenti
In our cycling tour we cross the border here and too. From Lenti we take the main road towards Rédics, then take a bike path from the city border. We drive straight out of the roundabout in Rédics and continue on the light-traffic asphalt road. We cross the Hungarian-Slovenian border. At Göntérháza, in the roundabout, turn left toward Lendava. Until Lendva you can cycle or cycle along almost all the way. On the way, the Lendava Mountain Range opens up to us, with the Vinarium with its towering lookout. Lendava has a lot to offer: Vinarium, Lendava Castle, St. Catherine's Parish Church, Lutheran Church, Synagogue, Local History Exhibition. It is also worth a roll up to Lendava Mountain, where you can enjoy unparalleled views. You will find better cellars, restaurants, and the climb to the lookout. Filled with excitement, we leave the city by the Lendava stream. We take the main road to the village of Csente, while we pass the Murania Cycling Center. We cross the Hungarian border and soon we reach Tornyiszentmiklós. Turn left from Petőfi S. Street to Kossuth L. Street. At the top of the hill you will find the Church of St. Nicholas. From here we take a narrow bicycle road, then from the border of the settlement we follow the main road to Lovászi. In the village we turn right. In the village you can see the bunkers built as part of the Maginot line and refresh yourself in the beach bath. We wind on a paved asphalt road, cross the Kerka stream and then reach Szécsisziget. We find the buffalo reserve on the right and the water mill on the left. Also visit the Andrássy-Szapáry Castle and the Church of the Holy Cross. After Szécsisziget we turn right onto Béke Street in Kerkateskánd and drive through the settlement or ride the busiest 7538 road towards Lenti. From Lenti-Máhomfa we can take a bike path to Lenti. Here you can visit the city's sights, the castle, St. Michael's Church or take a swim in the famous beach for its thermal water.
Route: Čentiba/Csente–Lendava/Lendva–Dolnji Lakoš–Gornji Lakoš–Gaberje–Kapca–Hotiza–Sveti Martin na Muri–(Vrhovljan–Žabnik)–Marof–Hlapičina–Mursko Središče–Petišovci–Trimlini–Lendava/Lendva–Čentiba/Csente
The starting point of our tour is the Murania Sports and Cycling Centre in the village of Csente. We start our ride in the main road No. 443, towards Lendva. Once in the city, at the crossroads with the traffic lights, we turn left into Tomšičeva Street. We continue straight ahead in the next three roundabouts. In the village of Dolnji Lakoš we can continue cycling in a bicycle road. The long village is followed by the settlements; Gornji Lakoš, Gaberje, Kapca and then Hotiza. At the end of Hotiza, turn left at the Stations of the Cross signpost, or the first stone cross. In the wooded area, next to the road, we find other Stations of the Cross, with a different shape of cross at each station, symbolizing Christ’s death on the Cross. We arrive to Croatia soon. First we cross the border crossing, and then the River Mura. Once we have crossed the bridge, we can decide to turn left and continue our hike along the River Mura (off road), or further down the asphalt road. In either directions, we have to follow the signs for the R2 bicycle path. On the river bank you can enjoy a fabulous landscape, while in the village of Sveti Martin na Muri you will find beautiful temples and a spa. After a detour in the city, between Marof to Mursko Središče you can choose several times, whether you want to go off to the gravel path (off road sign), or on asphalted roads through the small streets of the villages. Upon arriving at Mursko Središče, relaxation areas built on the bank of the River Mura offers a great opportunity for a refreshment. We cross over the Mura River bridge, and cross the Croatian-Slovenian border, we ride straight towards Petišovci, and turn right at the signpost indicating the beginning of the settlement. After Petišovci we follow our trip to Trimlini, and then along the Črnec Creek we arrive at the Lendava Thermal Bath. From here we will return to our starting point in Csente, on the same short section along Highway No. 443.
Route: Čentiba/Csente–Lendava/Lendva–Dolga Vas–Mostje–Genterovci–Kamovci–Žitkovci–Dobrovnik–Bukovina Lake–Dobronak–Žitkovci–Bödeháza–Gáborjánháza–Rédics–Lendvadedes–Nagy Tenke Hill–Lendva Hill–Čentiba/Csente
We head towards Lendva from the Murania Sports and Cycling Centre in Kranjceva road in Csente. In the village of Dolga Vas we turn left towards Dobronak, into Hetési Street. We ride straight through two roundabouts, and then along the main street of Mostje. We can cycle on a bicycle road in most part of the our ride to Dobronak. We cycle along Genterovci, Kamovci, and Žitkovci, and soon we reach Dobronak. We ride straight in the roundabout in the centre of the village, and at the end of the village, we turn right towards the Bukovina Lake. At the lake you will find great places to relax, you can ride or walk around the lake, eat and drink in the restaurants. You can recharge yourself in the energy park or try the adventure park.
We head back on the road that leads to the lake. In the centre of Dobronak, in the roundabout we turn right towards Turnišče. Leaving the settlement, you will find the tropical garden and orchid garden on the left of the main road. After visiting the garden, you can cycle either turning left into a partly gravel road or turning right on the asphalt road. On highway No. 442, we continue our bike ride on a bicycle road to Lendva. We turn left in the direction of Žitkovci, then turn left at the chapel in the centre of the settlement. The asphalt road leading out of the settlement will soon be replaced by a gravel road. Follow the Z sign (turn right) and then reach the Hetési Friendship Park on the Slovenian-Hungarian green border, where you can relax. We continue our journey on the Bödeháza-Szentistvánlak-Bödeháza-Gáborjánháza route. At the resting place at the Gate of Hetés, we turn left, and continue straight ahead. In Rédics, we take the bicycle road from the roundabout along the main road No. 75 towards Lenti. We cross the railway line in the settlement, then take the Vasút Street and Petőfi Street direction. We turn right at the intersection of Lendvakecskési Street. After a couple of kilometres, we turn right towards Lendvadedes. In the centre of the village we turn right at the bicycle signpost. We have to climb a steep slope in the forest. After that, we turn left onto the public road, and then we continue tour ride towards the Nagy Tenke Hill. Up on the top of the hill, among the old buildings, we can find a resting place, with a great view of the valley in front of the mountain and the on the Varasdin hills. From March 2019, we can cycle to Lendva Hill on the new border crossing asphalt road. Arriving at Slovenia, we turn right and then turn left on the mountain ridge, in front of the Lármafa. Be very careful going downhill because there is a very steep slope! Turn left at the main road to get back to your starting point.
From Őriszentpéter we start our tour at the roundabout towards Szalafő. After 2 kms, we turn left at the crossroads. After 6 kms on the hilly, bicycle friendly road we reach Szalafő, where we turn left towards Pityerszer. We visit the Folk Monument Complex. Then we continue our tour on the gravel road signed S. Meanwhile, we pass by Eurasian wild horses and European bison. At the signposts, we turn left onto the gravel forest road signed by K square, towards the Slovenian-Hungarian border stone. We continue straight ahead towards Slovenia at the border stone, and we continue to arrive at Hodos on a gravel road among forests and meadows. We turn right at the asphalt road, and cycle down the slope. Leaving Hodos, we pass the embankment of Lake Hodos, and turn left towards Dolenci at the crossroads of the asphalt roads. We arrive at Dolenci after overcoming the ascent. At the top of the hill, to the right, there is the Church of St. Nicholas. Moving on, we leave Dolenci down the slope. After the settlement we turn left to the pebble forest path marked S. The trail leads us through the forest to Lake Hodos. A study trail has been around the lake since 2005, with information boards and a resting area, as well as a clean drinking water spring. We continue our journey on the asphalt road towards Hodos, and further through the Slovenian-Hungarian border all the way to the centre of Bajánsenye. In Bajánsenye, at the crossroads number four, we turn left towards Őriszentpéter. On the asphalt road we arrive at the roundabout, our starting point.
